very funny guy! the book made me laugh out loud, lots of fun!
Dave Makin, I think we are brothers from another mother. This book is a hilarious romp through the formative years of an awkward adolescent. The authors keen writing style places us at the very scene of ordinary places that become extraordinary venues for belly laughing adventures. You will empathize with the main character as his stories extract embarrassing moments from your own past that you thought were buried deep. This is a great book and I look forward to the third installation.
I never knew before that there was a name for all of these seemingly random things that befall us as we go through life. "Cosmic Irony," by Dave Makin changed all that. Where I once believed that these things were the working out of some Karmic debt, Mr. Makin's book has convinced me of a simple truth life messes with you, with often hilarious results.
"Cosmic Irony" is a slim volume, and a fast read. I got through it in a little over an hour. It took longer for the aching in my sides from laughter to subside.
I discovered when I purchased this book that is the second volume of three (perhaps a bit of cosmic irony, right there). There is no question but that I'll be going out to get the other two. I needed a good laugh at the time of purchase, and this book delivers!
